'Last summer I went to see ABC at an outdoor gig. I looked up who the bass player was and found Andy Carr's website. It was here that I saw that Andy offered bass tuition. I love the bass guitar and, being fairly musical, always had a hankering to have a go at learning to play it, but never really got underway. So, I dropped Andy a line and he invited me along for a trial lesson. I loved it, bought a bass and just over 7 months later I'm still 'slapping' away!! Andy's tuition style is patient and supportive. He teaches technique first and foremost, which meant that I felt comfortable with playing and moving around the fret board very quickly Then we worked on songs and the bass really came to life. Andy encourages his students to also go away and find out things for themselves and is equally encouraging when you come back to him with the new and interesting bass lines you think you have learned!
